Tour Plan

Day 1: Lake Mburo National Park

Pick up from your hotel in the morning and you drive off to Lake Mburo national park making a stopover at the Equator to take some photos. You will have a 2 hours boat ride on the stunning lake Mburo to view crocodiles and hippos (although this will depend on the time you arrive). The park is home to hundreds of bird species such as the pelicans, herons, bare-faced Go-away-bird, saddle-billed stork, brown parrot, red-headed lovebird, black-bellied bustard, nubian woodpecker, grey crowned crane, emerald-spotted wood-dove, african scops owl, blue-breasted kingfisher among many others. The park also provides habitat to a variety of animals such as impala, eland, zebra, buffalo, reedbuck, waterbuck, oribi, leopard, hyena, warthog and topi. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Rest Camp or Mantana Tented camps.

Day 2: Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, you will drive along the lake side track enjoying a wonderful game drive to see the water animals and the plants. The Kigambira loop presents an opportunity to journey through the woody wilderness scattered with thickets. You will be able to see bushbucks, zebras and bush duikers. You then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp or Community Bandas or Buhoma.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking

After an early breakfast, you depart for the park headquarters and with the guides embark on the trek to track the rare mountain gorillas. It is somehow challenging to track the giants due to the difficult terrains, rain and mist hence it may take 4 – 8 hours depending on how far the Gorillas are from the park headquarters; but on finding them you will have a very exciting memorable experience with them. The opportunity of spending some time with these tranquil giants is such a wonderful encounter that will certainly overwhelm you. These gorillas are timid and very peaceful and it is a very unforgettable experience as you observe and even take photos of them. The forest provide ideal habitat for a variety of bird species with hundreds of bird species recorded such as blue-headed sunbird, hornbills, African emerald cuckoo, turacos, short-tailed warbler, Black and Cinnamon-chested Bee-eaters, Western Green Tinkerbird just but a few. Along with the mountain gorillas, the park provides shelter to other animal species such as African elephants, chimpanzee, baboons, black and white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, giant golden cat, African civet among others.Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Soon after breakfast, you set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular tourist destination, with a diverse ecosystem, from savannah to humid forests, to sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands. You take a game drive through the Ishasha area in search of the tree climbing lions as you continue to the headquarters of the Mweya Peninsular. The Park prides in the wide variety of game which includes lions, kobs, bushbucks, leopards, buffalos and elephants, antelope, warthogs, baboon, waterbuck, topi, Uganda kob, serval cats, hippos, vervet, black and white colobus monkeys. The diverse ecosystem is also reflected in the large number of birds recorded, the key species including black bee-eater, chapin’s flycatcher, martial eagle, pelican, white-tailed lark, verreaux’s eagle owl, shoebill, papyrus gonolek, papyrus canary, African skimmer, lesser and greater flamingo. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology or Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth/Kampala

Early morning game drive to further explore the park prior to returning to Kampala for drop off at your hotel.
