Tour Plan

Day 1: Kampala/Bwindi

Pick up from your hotel in the morning and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through Mbarara with lunch en-route as you enjoy the wonderful vegetation, the long horned Ankole cattle and the Ugandan homesteads and farms along the way. Arrive in Bwindi late in the evening for dinner and overnight at a camp.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking -Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you depart for the park headquarters and with the guides embark on the trek to track the rare mountain gorillas. It is somehow challenging to track the mountain Gorillas due to the difficult terrains, rain and mist hence it may take 4 – 8 hours depending on how far the Gorillas families are from the park headquarters; but on finding them you will have a very exciting memorable experience with them. The opportunity of spending some time with these tranquil giants is such a wonderful encounter that will certainly overwhelm you. These gorillas are timid and very peaceful and it is a very unforgettable experience as you observe and even take photos of them. The forest provide ideal habitat for a variety of bird species with hundreds of bird species recorded such as blue-headed sunbird, hornbills, African emerald cuckoo, turacos, short-tailed warbler, Black and Cinnamon-chested Bee-eaters, Western Green Tinkerbird just but a few. Along with the mountain gorillas, the park provides shelter to other animal species such as African elephants, chimpanzee, baboons, black and white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, giant golden cat, African civet among others. Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 3: Bwindi/Queen Elizabeth National Park

Soon after breakfast, you will set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving via the remarkable Western Rift Valley escarpment, take a game drive through the Ishasha area in search of the tree climbing lions as you continue to the headquarters of the Mweya Peninsular. The Park prides in the wide variety of game which includes lions, kobs, bushbucks, the occasional leopards, buffaloes and elephants. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology or Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth - Boat cruise along Kazinga Channel

Early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens’ mile tracks in the park to further explore the park where you may be able to see lions, elephants, Cape buffaloes, warthogs, leopards, spotted hyena, mongoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, topi and a lot of small animals and birds. Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter you go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a good opportunity for birding, as you spot many water birds, cormorants, pelicans, eagles, and many others as well as crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Kibale Forest

Morning game drive to further explore the park and thereafter you drive to fort portal, to the mythical mountains of the moon’s beautiful town; you will proceed to a lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Chimpanzees trekking

Report at the ranger station in Kibale National Park by 0800 hrs to start tracking the habituated Chimpanzees. These impressive chimps are the most closely related animal species to humans, and are very dramatic to watch play and wrangle in the trees. The large forest is a haven to more than 13 primate species including the red colobus monkey, the blue monkey, baboons, bush babies, black-faced vervet monkeys and the grey mangabey. The park is also home to mammal species though difficult to find in the dense forest. Among them includes elephants, leopards, buffalos, bush pigs, warthogs and numerous antelope species. The park boasts hundreds of bird species that include blue-breasted kingfisher, african grey parrot, bee-eater, sunbirds, crowned eagle, green breasted pitta, pigeons among others. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge or camp.

Day 7: Kibale/Kampala

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala for drop off at your hotel.
